History

1990

 

 

  • Africa Renewal Ministries(ARM) was founded in a small two roomed house in Gaba, Uganda under it’s original name, “Africa Reformed Ministry” by Pastor Peter Kasirivu, Pastor Charles Mugisha, Pastor JP Sewava and Gerald Seruwagi.

1992

 

 

  • ARM welcomed our first team of international visitors: Dr. Bill Thomas (An International Evangelist and partner to Luis Palau) and the senior pastor of Maranatha Bible Church in Texas, Pastor Rander and Darlene Draper.

1993

 

 

  • Pastor Peter’s first trip to America to share the vision of Africa Renewal Ministries with others.

1994

 

 

  • Africa Renewal Ministries was officially registered and recognised as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) by the Ugandan Government.

1997

 

 

  • The first child development project was launched in Gaba Uganda, this project is one of our largest projects and is now divided into Gaba A, Gaba B and Gaba AR.

2003

 

 

  • Bethany Village Children’s Homes were opened to house children in dire circumstances
  • The Rakai Child Development Project in Western Uganda was launched

2004

 

 

  • The 1st Mwangaza Choir was sent out to minister in the United States
  • 5 new Child Development Projects were launched: Mayuge, Mbarara, Muleete, Lusaze & Kawempe

2005

 

 

  • Wentz Medical Centre was established to meet the medical needs of our kids.  Wentz is now part of Renewal Healthcare Network which helps build clinics across Uganda
  • The Namutamba Child Development Project in Central Uganda was launched

2006

 

 

  • The ARM Head Office was built in Gaba to meet the growing needs of the ministry.
  • The Kacungwa Child Development Project in Central Uganda was launched

2007

 

 

  • Gaba Bible Institute, later termed “Africa Renewal University” was started in Gaba to offer tertiary level education to our students.
  • 2 Child Development Projects in Western Uganda were launched (Kabale & Canaan)

2008

 

 

  • The Soroti Child Development Project in Northern Uganda was launched
  • The Rukungiri Child Development Project in Western Uganda was launched

2009

 

 

  • Loving Hearts Babies Home was founded in Bunga, Uganda to help meet the needs of orphaned & abandoned Babies ages 0-2yrs.
  • 3 Child Development Projects were launched: Buloba, Jabez & Luzira

2010

 

 

  • The Kasangati Child Development Project in Central Uganda was launched
  • The Kasaali Child Development Project in Western Uganda was launched

2011

 

 

  • 4 Child Development Projects were launched in Central Uganda: Kawempe, Lusaze, Kyengeza & Najjanankumbi

2012

 

 

  • Renewal Enterprises Limited (REL) was founded in Gaba, Uganda to increase the self-sustainability of Africa Renewal Ministries

ARM Urgent Needs

ARM currently has 21 university students waiting for sponsors. Many of these students were the top performers in their high schools, and now risk having to drop out of university if they do not get sponsors soon. Full university sponsorship is $200 a month, but we accept partial amounts of $50, $100, $150 or one time gifts.
