“My Testimony” by Rogers Kajjabwangu
With just a year left to finish medical school and become a medical doctor, I look back and marvel at how much God can do with a simple life of a child. Although, I’ve always wanted to be a doctor, it has never felt as real as it feels now! All this time, I feel like God is holding my hand to lead me to my destiny and he is doing this through Africa renewal ministries.
“I marvel at how much God can do with a simple life of a child”
With a dad who was never there, and my mom who passed away when I was only 11 years old, I had no hope for my future. After my mom’s passing, I spent two years in an orphanage that had been started by Africa renewal ministries, until one of my aunties took me to live with her.
After my high school, I was enrolled in to the Next generation leadership program, a leadership development initiative of Africa renewal ministries, and I could say, this is one of the best things that have ever happened to me. Being part of the Next generation leadership program has transformed me to a completely different person. Through the different trainings, workshops and mission activities, I’ve learnt to be humble and to emulate Christ as a servant leader. The truth is that, if you have two children, one of whom you just support financially, and the other you take through leadership training in addition to the financial support, you will have two completely different people at the end of the sponsorship period.
Now that I’m about to finish medical school, I know the sky is the limit! I’m looking forward to helping treat many sick people especially the children. I also feel that the lord has called me to provide servant leadership in the medical field to help to bring some life back to the sick health care system of Uganda
