1 Sam 2:8a ESV—“He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor.”
We greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please receive our love, thanks and gratitude from Kasaka Child Development Program.
We wish to thank God for the blessings in Kasaka, which we have witnessed with our very own eyes.
There is a family in our community that we work with. Their two children are registered with our program. This family was known to be the poorest family in our community. It is rumored that they were so poor that even the rats in their house made fun of them. They lived in a grass thatched, mud and wattle house that collapsed, forcing the parents and two children to live in a very small makeshift hut.
The hut leaked often, forcing the kids to leave the hut and sleep under the cover of a nearby banana plantation when it rained. The family was in desperate need of help. As soon as the full extent of their situation was known to the project director of Kasaka, he decided to take pictures of the family’s living condition and talk with friends and donors to see what he could do to help the family.
We began to see God work immediately in the life of this family as He rallied people together to help. Africa Renewal Ministries helped to provide food and beddings and Celebrate Hope Ministries, along with our friends in Holland (UCCF), sent money for the construction of a permanent, well furnished, family home.
We thank God for the people he has brought to help save the lives of this family! And we thank God because he intercedes on our behalf. He is a God of action, and He can and does change lives!
There was joy and cerebration when the family entered their new house. The poorest family in the community is now the richest with the best house and a great testimony of what God has done. It is indeed a miracle!
Special thanks go to ARM, Reina Schenkel, Uganda Child Care Foundation (UCCF), Cerebrate Hope Ministries and all the staff at Kasaka CDP who helped make this possible!
God bless you all.
